Q. What happens at my first appointment?
A. Appointments usually last about 30 minutes. A medical history will be taken, followed by a detailed physiotherapy assessment. Once a diagnosis has been made your problem will be explained and discussed with you,then a treatment plan will be tailored to your individual needs.

Q. Do you do home visits?
A. Yes. These can be arranged if you are unable to get to the surgery. Please contact us to make arrangements

Q. How does hysiotherapy work?
A. Physiotherapy is the most widely available of all manipulative techniques used to help muscles and joints and other parts of the body to work to their full potential.The basic aim of physiotherapy is to help alleviate pain and restore normal movement and function so helping the body to return to its natural state.

Pro active physiotherapy will help you by adopting a 'hands on approach'. However we will also enable you to help yourself by showing you simple exercises and postural adjustments which you will put into practice between sessions at home.

Q. Do I need a referral from my G.P. or Consultant ?
A. No you can book in directly for a consultation with us.

Q. What is the procedure if I'm paying through Medical Insurance?
A. If you are paying for treatment through a medical insurance company you may need a Doctors referral to claim. Before treatment it is best to check with your insurance company to see if this is essential.
On your first visit we will need:

• the name of your insurance company
• your Policy Number
• an authorisation Number
• the number of sessions available to you

We regularly deal with BUPA/Medcare/Aviva/Standard Life/CignaHealth/Norwich Union.
